Node Management - Adding Nodes

Introduction

Nodes are the fundamental units within the Inventory Management System, representing items, categories, or any entities you wish to track. Adding nodes allows you to build your inventory structure.

Steps to Add a Node

  1. Navigate to the Parent Node

    • Use the navigation tree or interface to select the node under which you want to add a new node.
  2. Click the Add Button

    • Locate the plus (+) icon, typically at the bottom right corner.
    • Click the icon to initiate the add node action.
  3. Fill in Node Details

    • A dialog or form will appear.
    • Title: Enter the name of the new node.
    • Data: (Optional) Provide additional information in JSON format or other fields as applicable.
  4. Confirm or Cancel

    • Click "Add" to create the node.
    • Click "Cancel" if you decide not to proceed.
  5. Verify the Node Creation

    • The new node should now appear under the selected parent node.
    • The interface may automatically expand or refresh to display the new node.

Tips for Adding Nodes

  • Use Descriptive Titles

    • Clear and specific titles help in identifying nodes quickly.
  • Input Validation

    • Ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly to avoid errors.
  • Bulk Addition

    • If supported, use bulk upload features to add multiple nodes at once.

Troubleshooting

  • Node Not Appearing

    • Refresh the page to check for updates.
    • Ensure you have the necessary permissions to add nodes.
  • Error Messages

    • Read any error messages carefully.
    • Correct any input errors and try again.
